The Tribunal vide order dated 20.08.2025 in S.A.No. 60/CHNY/2025 had granted stay of outstanding demand for a period of 180 days from the date of that order or the disposal of appeal whichever is earlier (SA No.60/CHNY/2025, order dated 20.08.2025 was the latest stay order of the Tribunal). After the stay order dated 20.08.2025, the appeal (ITA No.753/CHNY/2020) was posted for hearing on two occasions namely on 27.11.2025 & 22.01.2026. On both occasions, the appeal could not be heard and the case is finally posted for hearing on 18.03.2026. On perusal of the material on record, it is clear that assessee cannot be faulted for non-disposal of appeal. Since, the factual situation remains the same as of the last stay order dated 20.08.2025, we deem it appropriate to extend the stay for a further period of 180 days or till the disposal of appeal, whichever is earlier. It is ordered accordingly. 3. In the result, the stay petition filed by the assessee is allowed. Order pronounced in the open court on 20th February, 2026 at Chennai.
