Who is eligible to apply for DPIIT recognition?
Any entity registered as a Private Limited Company, LLP, or Partnership Firm, incorporated within the last 10 years and with an annual turnover not exceeding ₹100 crore in any financial year, is eligible.
How long does it take to receive the DPIIT certificate?
If the application and documents are complete, approval is typically granted within 10–15 working days. Queries or resubmissions may extend the timeline.
What happens if my DPIIT application is rejected?
If rejected, you will receive the reason from DPIIT. You can make the necessary corrections and reapply. There’s no restriction on the number of reapplications.
Can a startup older than 10 years apply for DPIIT recognition?
No. Only startups incorporated within the last 10 years from the date of application are eligible.
Do I automatically get tax exemptions after DPIIT recognition?
No. You must separately apply for tax benefits like Section 80-IAC or 56(2)(viib) exemptions via the Income Tax portal after getting DPIIT recognition.
