THIS PETITION COMING ON FOR PRELIMINARY HEARING THIS DAY, CHIEF JUSTICE MADE THE FOLLOWING: ORDER This writ petition was filed in the year 2010, in the nature of public interest litigation, seeking the following reliefs: \"i) A direction to first respondent to order an enquiry and investigation into third respondents involvement in betting, match- fixing, money laundering and violation of foreign exchange regulation of its constituent members of the IPL and to deal with them in deft hand and punish them in accordance with law. ii) A direction to third respondent to stop conducting Semi final matches scheduled to be held on 21st and 22nd April, 2010 at - 3 - Chinnaswamy stadium to shifting the venue from Bangalore to Mumbai. iii) A direction to third respondent to allow the schedule matches scheduled to be held on 21st and 22nd April, 2010 at Chinnaswamy stadium, Bangalore, without any hindrance. iv) A direction to the Second respondent-State Government to ensure adequate safety and protection to the people who witness the cricket match on 21st and 22nd of April, 2010 at Chinnaswamy stadium.. v) A direction to the Commissioner of Police to ensure the safety and security of the people visiting/witnessing the Semi-final matches scheduled to be played on 21st and 22nd April 2010 at Chinnaswamy stadium, Bangalore. vi) A direction to 5th respondent to conduct an enquiry and investigation into the financial dealings of both the third and fourth respondents and to deal with them in accordance with law. vii) A direction to 6th respondent to conduct an enquiry and investigation into financial dealings of both the fourth and fifth respondents and to deal with them in accordance with law for violation of foreign exchange regulation and other rules. viii) To pass any other order/orders as deemed fit in the circumstances of the case.\" 2.
